I do not agree with selling alcohol on Sunday. I’m a very religious person, and most Christians observe Sunday as the sabbath day. God commanded us to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. When God created the world in six days, He rested on the Sabbath. Since we are created in His image we are commanded to do the same. However, we seem to be doing everything but that. We set aside Sunday for partying, watching Sunday football with a beer in our hand, and good times. We also use it for everything that we didn’t find time for in the six-24 hours a day work week. This is supposed to be a day for man to rejuvenate himself, rest, in order to be ready for work the next week. Not only is this a time for man to rest mentally, but it is also a time for him to rest physically. Alcohol is a depressant to the brain and body; this is in no way rejuvenation. There is no wonder that people are so mentally and physically stressed. Where is the rest day? The making of more money seems to be the driving force for it all, especially the selling of alcohol on Sundays . Many businesses look at the amount of money they think they might be losing. They therefore decide to open their businesses on Sunday. Chick-fil-A Founder, Truett Cathy vowed that none of his stores would open on Sunday. I believe that this is the reason why Mr. Cathy’s franchise is so prosperous.
